*An “experienced yoga instructor” typically refers to a credentialed teacher, such as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) or Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), recognized by organizations like Yoga Alliance, who has completed extensive training (e.g., a 200-hour or 500-hour program) and accumulated significant teaching experience. Experience also implies a refined teaching ability to provide skillful, authentic, and safe instruction, including precise communication, anatomical knowledge, adaptability for different levels, and a deep understanding of yoga philosophy and practice.
Other Information:
Amie began practicing yoga fifteen years ago. After her very first yoga class she experienced an immediate sense of relief and realized that yoga was the answer to a more peaceful, balanced life. In February 2010 she received her 200-hour yoga teacher certification and a few years later became a Certified Personal Trainer and Pilates Mat Instructor as well. In 2019 Amie received an additional 300hr certification from Down Under School of yoga and in 2024 received an Aerial Yoga Teacher Certification.
She teaches Vinyasa flow-to-fit style classes with strong emphasis on building functional strength and flexibility. The entire practice is centered around building functional strength, correcting muscular imbalances and posture, and improving balance. This not only enables students to perform everyday tasks with ease, but also helps prevent and avoid injuries.
In addition to being a dedicated yogi, Amie enjoys running ultra marathons, lifting, hiking, and traveling.
Amie believes in treating the whole person – body, mind and spirit, and that consistency and support are the two most important factors in achieving and maintaining health and happiness.
