POLICY ON USAGE

This Directory of Garden Clubs belongs to The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc.  It is for club information only and is not to be used for any commercial purpose.

The list of Clubs, Presidents and their contact information may not be distributed outside our organization in any manner.

A survey of Club Presidents indicated that most feel that email lists should be used judiciously by clubs to distribute information or to extend invitations. Specifically, the majority feel that:

  • Clubs may use this list to distribute individual invitations to clubs in their immediate geographic area.
  • Events to be promoted statewide should not be emailed, but instead should be placed in the online calendar on the website and in the CFNews.
  • Events requiring lengthy detailed information are best publicized in a paid advertisement.

Any email distributed to a large group should not show the email recipients in the “TO” field or in the “CC” areas.  The names of the email recipients should be in the “BCC” area so that they cannot be copied by others. Since the emails are not visible, indicate the audience in the salutation (e.g., Dear Hartford Area Garden Club Presidents.).

SUBMITTING CHANGES IN CLUB INFORMATION:

When your Club elects a new President or changes its contact information, please notify the FGCCT Office with the updates:  office@ctgardenclubs.org  or 203-488-5528.

This Directory of Garden Clubs will be updated periodically, as changes are received.
