The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc. takes several tours each year focused on places and events of interest to gardeners and floral designers. Members are encouraged to join us. They may be accompanied by non-member guests. If the tour is not sold out by a specific date, tours are then open to the general public to join the group. Contact Tours@ctgardenclubs.org for tour information, suggestions for future tours or to join the Tours Committee.
Each spring visitors are welcomed to over 250 of Virginia’s most beautiful gardens, homes and historic landmarks during “America’s Largest Open House.” This 8-day statewide event provides visitors a unique opportunity to see unforgettable gardens at the peak of Virginia’s springtime color, as well as beautiful houses sparkling with over 2,300 flower arrangements created by Garden Club of Virginia members.
Tour proceeds fund the restoration and preservation of more than 40 of Virginia’s historic public gardens and landscapes, a research fellowship program, and a Garden Club of Virginia Centennial project with Virginia State Parks.
We tour the best of Brandywine Valley – Private gardens, Longwood Gardens, Winterthur Museum & Gardens and much more. The area is know as America’s Gardening Capital because this area claims the largest concentration of the finest public and private gardens in the world! It’s truly America’s Gateway to Gardens.
