Jamal Ansara, President and Owner of East Coast Flowers, a premier floral wholesaler in Norwalk, Connecticut, with 25 years experience in all facets of the floral business, began the program late Tuesday afternoon, October 16th, with the the first of two Allied Subjects: “The 21st Century Global Flower Market.”
Ko Klover of Delaware, followed with the second Allied Subject: “Certified American Grown Flowers.” Ko is a board member, Certified American Grown Council, CEO of Botanical Trading Co. LLC and a partner at Pioneer Gardens, Inc. in Delaware.
Our Design Instructor on October 17th was Penny Decker from Florida discussing “Grouped Mass” and “Featured Plant Material,” two of the new designs debuted in the 2017 Handbook. Penny teaches Symposia and Flower Show Schools around the country and is known for her color-filled creative designs.
Dorthy Yard of Pennsylvania is the National Garden Club Flower Show Chair and a five-star member of the NGC. As a NGC Instructor, she has taught horticulture in 38 states. Dorthy was the instructor on Horticulture on October 18th, featuring “Going Green: Broad Leaf Evergreens and Container Begonias.” Both are New England flower show favorites.
