‘White Oak’s Effect on our Mosses and Lichens’ – Cherry Brook Garden Club

March 14 • 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$5

Steve Messier will present “White Oak’s Effect on our Mosses and Lichens.” White oaks play a significant role in the ecology of our dry- mesic forests. Because of their special bark characteristics , they act as a refuge for rare lichens, and for the occurrence of mosses that would otherwise be restricted to moister habitats or the lime valley of northwestern Connecticut.
