Stone in the Garden, presented by Andrew Pighills of English Gardens and Landscaping, Killingworth, CT
This presentation explores the myriad ways in which structure is created in the landscape using natural stone. Mr. Pighill’s talk describes where to place stone walls to define garden areas, paths, walkways and patios to direct one through the garden, where one may happen upon follies, benches, seats, mosaics and other whimsies. He will describe which materials are most suitable for creating contrast and harmony.
Mr. Pighills is an accomplished gardener, horticulturist, and builder of stone walls, and received his training from the Royal Horticultural Society. He came to the USA in 2001 where he and his wife founded English Gardens and Landscaping that draws inspiration from the enchanting settings and exuberant lushness of the traditional English cottage garden that they know and love so well.
