North Haven Garden Club: Peter & Barbara Rzasa ‘Are Plants Intelligent?

North Haven Garden Club presents Peter and Barbara Rzasa, nature photographers with a goal of encouraging people to look closely at the natural world.  In 2015 they were presented the Ellen Carder Memorial Award by the FGCCT for their horticultural education as co chairs of the Wallingford Garden Club Horticulture Committee.

In this program we will find out what plants can do – and what they can’t.  We learn about the role mycorrhiza plays in plant communication and how a plant’s cell receptors form the chemical basis for its senses. Plants share many of the senses that humans possess.  They have the ability to see, hear and feel.

The program is open to the public.  A $5 donation is welcome.  Refreshments will be served after the program.
