North Haven Garden Club: Dr Susanna Kerio ‘Every Tree Has its Place or Planting the Right Tree in the Right Place’

North Haven Garden Club presents Dr. Susanna Kerio, Assistant Agricultural Scientist II, Department of Forestry and Horticulture at CAES

(Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station).  She is a forest pathologist and ecologist in disease resistance of trees to fungal pathogens, and

genetic factors associated with tree fungus and tree stress responses.  She received her B.S., M.S. and Doctorate in Agriculture and Forestry

from the University of Helsinki.

Trees provide shade to cool our homes and a framework for our gardens.  Dr. Kerio’s presentation will focus on how the proper species

selection can maximize the benefits and minimize the problem of trees at our homes and towns.

The program is open to the public. A $5 donation is welcome.  Refreshments will be served after the program.
