The Agricultural Station Associates will have their annual meeting on March 28th at 7:00 at Jones Auditorium. There will be a Station Update by Director Dr. Theodore Andreadis and Lecture by Dr. Wade Elmer, Chief Scientist of the Department of Plant Pathology and Ecology. His main interests are to develop strategies to suppress root diseases of vegetables and ornamentals using combinations of mineral nutrition, soil amendments (biochar), and earthworms. Recent research is investigating the influence of metal oxide nanoparticles on plant health and root disease. Understanding the mechanisms of suppression and their contributions to soil and plant health is a long term goal. He has authored/co authored over 100 manuscripts, 19 book chapters and edited 2 books.
