The Shippan Point Garden Club – 100 Years
The Shippan Point Garden Club in Stamford is extremely excited to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Established in October 1925, the club has a rich history of promoting horticulture, conservation, and civic beautification within the local community.
Founded by a group of avid gardeners, the club has grown over the decades into a cornerstone of Stamford’s cultural and environmental landscape. The mission of the club is to stimulate interest and promote education in the areas of gardening, floral design, civic planting, and conservation.
The 100th anniversary celebration is more than just a milestone; it is a testament to the enduring spirit and dedication of its members.
The club started its centennial activities in March, but it has four more events scheduled throughout the year to commemorate this special occasion including.

NGC Small Standard Flower Show at the Stamford Yacht Club

Doors of Shippan Holiday Wreath Contest
The club has also created a historical exhibit of its accomplishments over the past 100 years that will travel around town to be displayed at most of their events as well as in the Stamford main library and the Historical Society. As the club enters its second century, it is still committed to fostering a love for gardening, promoting conservation, and enhancing the beauty of Stamford.
