Cancellation of 2020 FGCCT Annual Meeting and Luncheon

13 March 2020

After much thought and after reviewing all relevant news and requests from State government about limiting meetings and events, we’ve made the decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting. This is an extremely difficult decision to make as it impacts many people and businesses involved with the meeting. However, our main priority must be the overall continued good health of our members. We’re certain that you’ll agree with this prudent course of action. Our members and their wellbeing must come first. Refunds will be issued to members who have already registered. Plans for the Awards Meeting in October continue to move forward.

Many clubs have reached out to inquire about guidance and advice from The Federation during this period of significant uncertainty. We advise individual clubs to go forward with the utmost amount of caution with regard to upcoming meetings. The health of your club members needs to be your primary concern. One key factor is to listen to your club members’ feelings about gathering. Reach out to them. This helps to make any decision far easier, as it is based on fact. With so many unknowns, err on the side of caution.

There is no question that we’re going to get past this situation. Much like our plants that come back strong in the spring, so too will The Federation. Let’s continue to grow together; we are far stronger when we are one.
