Helen H. Pritchard, 89 of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2018.
Helen was a leader, mentor and teacher to many. She was a Master Judge Emeritus and chaired both the 1998 Connecticut Flower Show “Watch Us” and the 1999 Flower Show “Let’s Celebrate” held at the Expo Center. She served on the Federation’s Board for many years as well as on the board of National Garden Clubs, Inc. In addition to various appointments on these two Boards, she was a long-time member of the Connecticut Cactus and Succulent Society, the Tri-State Hosta Society, the Hardy Plant Society, and the CT Botanical Society; a Life member of the Danbury Garden Club; and a founding member of the Connecticut Invasive Plant Working Group. She produced two editions of the list of Connecticut’s Endangered and Invasive Plants. Her obituary can be read here.
